We have 3 options for Upgrading in place, on your computer that is currently running Windows XP or VISTA that are shown below.
Economy: We do an in-place upgrade over your existing OS.
We recommend this to customers who have a fairly clean or newly restore original OS, XP or VISTA, having no performance problems.
Premium: We backup all your files and do a clean install of Windows 7 in a new partitioned space of your existing hard drive. Then restore your files to windows. Programs will have to be re-installed.
We only recommend this if your computer is less than 1-2 years old.
Ultimate: We install a new hard drive to hold your files (this gives you the best preservation of your files into the future), move all your data to the new hard drive and then install the new OS, Win7, on your old hard drive with your previous OS and files. You may choose to leave the old OS as a 'Dual-Boot' or just there in backup with Win 7 as the only boot option.
In each case we will be installing our OEM Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade using your existing VISTA or WIndows XP installation for Key Verification. You will receive a new Windows 7 Key for the new installation, but no Installation disks will be provided.
